The massive earthquake followed by the even more devastating tsunami that struck the north-east coasts of Japan last week has brought together the country’s biggest automakers including Honda, Nissan and Toyota, which announced today that they will donate $3.75 million each for relief and recovery efforts in communities affected by the disaster.
In addition to the contribution in money, Nissan said it is also studying further relief efforts including complimentary provision of vehicles, such as trucks and forklifts, donation of medical supplies and daily commodities including blankets, antiseptics and masks, gift matching donation from Nissan employees, promotion, and support of blood donation activities.
Honda announced that it will donate a total of 1,000 power generators along with 5,000 gas canisters to the people left without electricity, while Toyota is considering the provision of goods and services as needed.
The three automakers have also announced the closure of some of their factories in Japan. From March 14 through March 20, Honda will suspend all production activities at its plants in Sayama, Saitama, Ogawa, Tochigi, Hamamatsu and Suzuka, plus all facilities in the Tochigi area, where damage was more serious. From March 15 through 20, Honda will also suspend production at the Kumamoto factory.
Nissan announced that operations at the Tochigi and Iwaki plants are suspended until March 18, while the Oppama, Kyushu, Shatai and Yokohama plants will be closed until March 16. As for Toyota, officials announced that the Hokkaido, Tohoku, Miyagi and Iwate plants are closed, with all employees having been evacuated to safe areas. The factories will remain closed at least until March 16.
Other automakers affected by the earthquake include Mazda, Mitsubishi, Subaru and Suzuki, which have either suspended or slowed down production because of supply shortages.

mitsubishi-triton-tmr-frontI always like the design of the Mitsubishi compact pickup truck. Mitsubishi Triton actually originated in Malaysia as a Mitsubishi Storm. Triton has always had a strong and robust design that attracts many truck buyers. TMR Triton is a concept vehicle which closely represents the reality of production.

mitsubishi-triton-tmr-back-2This concept model will be using 3.2 litre common rail turbo diesel engine that provides an impressive 132kW @ 3,800rpm and torque to a phenomenal 450Nm @ 2,000rmp. This is an increase from the current model. Fitted with Koni 8240 series shock absorbers at the front and back to provide the comfort needed for your weekend out of the town.

mitsubishi-triton-tmr-backMitsubishi Triton uses Super Select 4WD system that enable the driver to choose from 2WD, full time 4WD or 4WD high / low range.

Mitsubishi GalEA was created by Gábor Farkas. The independent designer has now sent us yet another Mitsubishi study, this time for a replacement to the Galant sedan. The concept is named GalEA and is said to draw its inspiration from the previous, sharper-looking eighth generation Galant of the late 1990s, while sharing similar design cues with the smaller Concept CS.

The current generation Mitsubishi Grandis is a good representation of the Japanese automaker as a whole. Plastic-y interiors, underdone ride and handling and anodyne looks combine to make the Grandis a poor substitute for the vastly superior and better selling Toyota Tarago [Australia]. With its South Korean competition having long ago stepped up to the plate, it’s disappointing to see Mitsubishi lagging so far behind.

David Cardoso, the artist who in the past has brought us design studies such as Renault Twist MPV and Audi Hydron, has envisioned a possible successor to the Grandis in the form of the Flexis. Appearing to be smaller than the Grandis - with seating more likely for five instead of seven - the Flexis takes it’s styling cues from the Opel Meriva, Peugeot 3008 and 2012 Ford Focus. Overall it’s a good expansion on Mitsubishi’s current design language, and a far sight better than when Mitsubishi tried applying its new corporate face to the aging Colt. When choosing a car accessory for your MITSUBISHI LANCER, keep in mind that it will have to be installed at some point. I know that seems obvious, but it is easy to get caught up in all of the accessories and forget that you will have to find a way to get it in there. In order to make sure you install your car accessory properly, you will definitely need to get your hands on some instructions. Many times the part will come with its own instructions, but they can sometimes be vague and confusing. You can, if you are having trouble installing your car accessory, contact other MITSUBISHI LANCER owners or check on line for supplemental instruction. No matter how you do it, just make sure that your accessories get installed properly so as not to do damage to the part or to your car. If you are concerned, you can always contact a MITSUBISHI LANCER dealer or car accessory dealer to find out what they charge to install.

If you've just bought a new car or used car, there are a number of things you can add to it to make it look even better. There are numerous car accessories available in the market. Car accessories range from functional to decorative. There are car accessories that help your car become more attractive looking and there are those that can make your car more comfortable for you. You'll need to spend some time determining what sorts of car accessories you should buy for your car. If you spend hours traveling in your car, you obviously want your car to provide you with maximum comfort while you're on the road. Below are some of the best car accessories you can get for your car.

A Sound System is very important accessory for your car. If music is important to you, you'll find that there are many different options that you can find when it comes to making sure that you have sweet music all around you. You can always install a CD player or a cassette tape into your car, but there are many choices that you can make. There is an accessory that allows you to upload MP3s to it and then broadcasts the MP3 list as a radio station for your radio to pick up. Another option allows you to use a cassette tape accessory to hook the device up to your CD player and broadcast the music that way.

Car cover is another important accessory for your car. Even if your car sits in a covered garage, you'll find that having an extra layer of protection from the elements is a great way to spend a few bucks. A plastic cover can go a long way towards keeping your car in good working order. You'll find that it will be less vulnerable to nicks and scratches, and you'll find that your car cover, which might only cost you a few dollars, can wind up saving you hundreds in repairs and

Good rugs are always great accessories that can help make your car look attractive and comfy inside. Take your time shopping for designer rugs; you can get quality car rugs at good prices. Less an accessory and more a necessity, a good jack is something that you'll be useful for if your car ever breaks down. You'll find that a good jack is one that settles down quickly and easily when it comes time to hoist your car, and you'll find that it is rock solid when you go to start cranking it up. If you are looking for a good jack, test a few out and find the one that has the best pumping action for you.

When you come to think of it, there are not a lot of Mitsubishi used cars in Canada. When researching the brand I didn’t realize that the Mitsubishi Motor Corporation only officially came to Canada in 2003. Mitsubishi vehicles were sold through Chrysler dealerships in North America before Mitsubishi announced it was officially in Canada and the States. Mitsubishi has many different models but we are going to focus on the Galant, a midsize sedan. In 2004 Mitsubishi decided to redesign the Galant, there were two different Galant’s to choose from. You could either have a 2.4-litre, four-cylinder with 160 horsepower or a 3.8-litre, V6, 230 horsepower engine. Both engines only had four-speed automatic.

Mitsubishi Galant used cars:

The Galant in 2007 was redesigned and had changes to both exterior and interior of the vehicle. They also replaced there sporty version of the GTS with the Ralliart model. Mitsubishi boosted the V6 engine to 258 horsepower. The V6 model also replaced the four-speed transmission to a five-speed. The 2007 Galant also added side airbags as a standard feature to all models.

If you’re interested in a newer version of the Mitsubishi Galant like the 2009 version, then you will be happy to know the automaker made some changes to the style of the vehicle. These changes were only done on the exterior and interior of the vehicle, there were no changes done to either engine.

From what I could gather about the fuel economy statistics was that the Mitsubishi Galant had higher fuel ratings than other competitors in its segment. In 2009 the four-cylinder had a 10.2/7.2-litre/100km for both city and highway driving. The V6 engine had a 12.6/8.0-litre/100km for both city and highway driving and the sporty version had a 12.9/8.2 for both city and highway.

Let’s go over some pros and cons of the Mitsubishi Galant:

1- There are problems with the condenser.

2- It has been reported that there are problems with the automatic climate control system.

3- Other things I found reported on the web about the Galant were oxygen sensor issues.

4- Problems with squeaky brakes.

5- It was giving a good rating by The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety for a test on frontal offset crashes

6- It also received four stars from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for driver and passenger protection in frontal crash tests in 2007.

I hope this information helps when looking at the Mitsubishi Galant as your next used vehicle.

If you’re Canadian and looking to find great savings in Mitsubishi used cars please check out YouPaidWhat.ca they provide Canadians with an alternative option in buying American used cars. With the Canadian dollar being so high, it only makes sense to buy American used cars for sale.

akrapovic adds some growl to the mitubishi evo x

A few days ago we brought news of a Ferrari 458 Italia that got an extra 11hp just by getting an Akrapovic exhaust system put in, and now we bring you another model that has received the same treatment. The Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X has had its output bumped with the use of a lighter exhaust system from Akrapovic.
A standard Evo X is powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged four-cylinder unit that delivers 295 hp at 6,500 rpm and 366 Nm of torque at 3,500 rpm. That’s not bad for a sports sedan, but with the new entry level slip-on exhaust system, which is 5 kilos lighter than the stock one, that output has been increased by 11 HP and 9 NM. Move up to the Evolution system, which is 16 kilos lighter than the stock, and the car finds itself with an extra 31hp and 26Nm of torque.
The new slipon exhaust system features a dual “split muffler” design that incorporates a unique cast titanium Y-shaped collector and flange assembly. The casting allows for a higher-flow and is more intricate than using cut and welded tubing. The
The new Evolution System includes the same two titanium mufflers, but adds a high-flow link pipe that bolts directly to the factory down pipe.

Mitsubishi has reached an agreement to share the ASX/RVR with Peugeot-Citroën.

While details are limited, the Peugeot and Citroën models will be launched in early 2012 in Europe. They will feature unique styling and available in both front an all-wheel drive. The deal has benefits for both companies: PSA gets an already-developed vehicle for a growing market segment, while Mitsubishi benefits from economies of scale resulting from the 100,000 extra cars it expects to make for Citroen and Peugeot each year.

Power will be provided by PSA’s 1.6 HDi diesel engine with 110bhp and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) of torque. With front-wheel drive, the engine is expected to return 60.1mpg/4.7l km combined while emitting 123g/km.

Mitsubishi's ASX in FWD with the firms all-new 1.8 DiD engine will account for majority of UK sales when it goes on sale 1st July. In the mean while, if you want to win an all-new ASX 1.6.
