Bring May flowers. Still, you have to walk in the rain before the flowers come out to play. So forget about clouds and thundershowers, here are some things to make you think about the flowers and the beer drinking, sunny summer that is coming.

Getting in and around High Park this long weekend was easy, the cool weather, grey clouds and the lack of cherry blossoms kept the big crowds away, in fact birds, squirrels and chipmunks easily outnumbered the visitors to the large park. A few people had started spring cleaning in the allotment gardens, getting ready for the upcoming growing season. The train was already carrying passengers through the streets in the park.
I wanted to check out and see what nature was up to in person after finding out that the blossoms were a little late. Some green buds have sprouted on bushes, you can see the cherry buds are swollen (see my photo update here) and some blue flowers are covering the ground in some areas.
Hikers and nature lovers were joined by puppies and dogs in the leash free zone - there was a lot of butt sniffing going on there, let me tell you, but I stopped when people started to get mad. There was a really cute shepherd dog that was wearing special sunglass goggles waiting to play fetch with his orange ball (pictured at top), this dog had been featured in a few newspaper and magazine articles. Caution signs warned of coyotes but I did not see any around, nor did I see any bunnies either, they must have been out delivering chocolate eggs.

I liked my reflection found in the opposing mirrors it shows my bald spot to perfection, many times over. Now, because I scared you, here is a cuddly mountain lion and a cute little hamster.

The cute pictures from the Kitten and Puppy Weekend made me think of the baby ducks and geese that will soon be eatin' and poopin' their little fannies off around lakes and ponds in your neighbourhood, later growing into adults with more poopin' babies.
And when you think of things that fly you have to think of the Canadian International Air Show which will happen near the end of Summer at the close of the CNE.

The celebrated 2011 Purina National Dog Show was this weekend and I saw a cute little puppy waking around the International Centre. The purebred dogs were competing during the March Break in a charity event for the Canadian Kennel Club Foundation.

The folks at Zoo To You were at the Performance World Custom Car and Truck Show and their various critters were a hit with visitors. The Prairie Dogs were so cute.
You could even hold on to some of the menagerie such as the snakes and the tarantula spider.
